Todd,
Food for thought... I bought Roger Rookey's '79 R22 a few months ago.  He glassed over the front ports for a couple of reasons - genoa sheets snagging on the frame during tacking, and examples he saw of stress cracks in the window area of other boats, both reasonable arguments.  Just a heads up.

In your case, Stan's better idea was not putting opening ports in the bow.
