[Rhodes22-list] DC marinas, was We're In the Water!

Steve and Mark,

Actually there are three separate marinas down there. I don't know which
bridges you saw the marinas from, but all three of them have clear access
to the Potomac.

>From the 14th Street bridge you may have seen the Gang Plank
Marina....the one by the "fish market" and Hogates restaurant, and across
the creek from Haines Point.

Down the creek and around Ft. McNair is the James Creek marina. A very
clean marina but no ramp and little parking. James Creek in not easily
visible from any of the bridges.

If you saw the marina from the South Capitol Street bridge, you saw
Buzzards Point marina. A very low budget marina (no amenities), tiny
parking lot and a ramp that is about thirty feet long, ten feet wide, and
at about a 30+ degree angle (very scary!!). The marina manager and his
wife live in that brown two story "houseboat" thing and he is very
protective of the docks.
See attached pic.

When we were up there this past week, I saw it as we were coming
over the bridge into DC. I didn't have the opportunity to check
it out. maybe next trip. There were several sailboats down there
  thought. Thanks for the info.
