Right on Slim!

Except.... a barber hauler will affect the sail shape in heavy air as well. 
Flat sails are best for pointing. I do not recommend using a barber hauler for 
going to weather only for reaches (aft of close).

Rummy: yes the bar is open (btw, ty for the mags!!)! 10" of heavy snow here 
yesterday and cold temps for the next few days. I will only quit my day job 
when the perfect marina/property is found. Su & i are heading to Nashville, IN, 
then to Paducah next weekend!

Ed: I believe that if you rig the sheet through the car on the forward track 
for a full (esp the 175) sail, the angle will be way too steep. If you print 
my sketch and then draw a line from the clew to the car on the forward track, 
the headsail shape will be deeper. This will be best determined by 
experimenting on your actual boat. One thing about a barber hauler is that you can shake 
it out as the wind changes as needed (or add more...) as opposed to rerigging 
the sheet.
