This is probably a completely off the wall question for the BR enthusiasts,
but I’d be interested in any answers or experience. Someone may have tried
this.

I got a new Cabela’s catalog today - they sell outdoor gear if you're not
familiar with them - (actually they have a website to, _www.cabela.com_
(http://www.cabela.com) ), flipped open to pg 201 and there were 2 versions of truck
tents. They’re sized for a variety of pickup truck beds from compact to
large/long, One (item 51-6446) advertises a 5' center height, that might be
increased or decreased with a little tailoring of the tent skirts. The most
expensive one sells for $200, and might look pretty good over a Rhodes cockpit.
The technology is ripstop nylon (pretty easy to work with) and
aluminum/shock-cord. It’s supposed to set up and break down quickly and store very
compactly. Mesh screen window and rain flaps on all sides with a fly for
ventilation. I suspect that if the tent is dimensioned for a pickup truck bed, it
might work - with a little tailoring - for an R22 cockpit.

Looking a little further they have a variety of standard tents that might
work also. For example, the dimensions of item 51-3670 order code 056 (which
they list as a 5/6 person tent) are 77" ht, 10' x 8'. Again, lots of windows
and screening, cost: $250.

Has anybody tried to adapt a tent to the Rhodes cockpit? Some tailoring
might be required to interface the tent with the PTE, or whatever, but it might
be pretty straightforward.

Bad idea?
