Not to speak for Rummey but, Hanks statement was " ...but CA is well known  
as one of the most liberal states in the Union.  There are areas that are  
conservative, but overall,
the liberals outnumber the conservatives." (note:  this is a paste from his 
post, it's exactly what he wrote.)
 
Rummey's question was:  Was "Mr Reagan, a "conservative"  Republican,  
elected governor of the State?.
 
Your response was:  Yes, twice.
 
It seems to me that if Hanks statement, i.e. liberals outnumber  
conservatives, is correct Mr Reagans election signals he was indeed a  closet liberal.  
Alternatively, Hanks statement is  incorrect, liberals do not outnumber 
conservatives and Mr Reagan was  elected as a conservative.  I can't imagine any other 
 possibilities. can you?  You choose.
 
I hope you understand the inconsistency that Hank's statement and the  agreed 
historical facts present.
