Steve:
I have done what you propose to do. I believe that I did the foresail
when the mast was down. I think I used 36 feet. I used a few feet longer
than what was on it because mine shrunk. My line was black. I replaced it
with what Jane sold at my marina. I believe she stocks New England. It was
black with red and white specs. It works fine. I used a good piece of the
old line to replace the line lifting line on the rudder. It is now black.
Before I think it was medium blue. I replaced my traveler lines to a Wally
single line which gave me two extra red lines. I used one for the pull down
on the rudder. While you are changing lines you might try the Wally single
line traveler method. I find that I use the traveler more and it is easier
to use.
If you order the lines from Comodore Spitzer you know that you will
get the right length and quality. Except that he does not do the single
line thing.
