Joe,
     Going in April before the noseeums, biting flies, and hurricanes can
give you a misinformed image.  Consider Columbia, South Carolina where you
have interesting politicians, good basketball teams, and nearby inland
sailing lakes.  Have you considered Lake Murray?  On Santee Cooper you could
fish and sail at the same time.
      So you want beer, consider taking a bottle of Rum and some Coke (the
beverage) to Rummy and find out about sailing a Rhodes 22 on an inland
sailing lake.  
      Did you hear about Sunday's weather forcast for Lake Hartwell?
