John,
1.	Welcome to the Rhodes 22 email list. So you have seen a R22, and asked
questions. Your responses to Herb about you nosing around his marina
started an explanation about yourself, but understand that you have not
really answered Rummy’s questions.
2.	Motor mount question – can we assume that you are buying that boat? Any
motor mount can be fixed. It usually takes some new parts and time. Rummy
is an expert motor mouth so ask him specific questions after you provide a
basis for him to answer your questions.
3.	The deck on the eBay boat can be fixed. However, any rookie should have
expert assistance by his side and a deep pocket. Michael suggested or
implied that $2,000 dollars would do it. Rummy suggested a method. All it
takes is lots of time, and a fair about of knowledge. There are several on
this list who have dealt with and solved greater problems. However,
contrary to the sellers comments, that boat should not be sailed until the
foredeck is safe. Remember that the Genoa attaches in the area of concern.
A strong gust could rip it out and destroy the foredeck and maybe other
things. Furthermore such an event could cause personal injury.
4.	So John, are you buying the boat on the hill? Are you joining up with
the motley crew? Also review this post by Hank using the supplied hot key:
