Rory:
Before you make a decision you need to determine: (1) How far you are going
to tow the boat. (2) What year the boat is. (3) How often you are going
to tow.

1.	If you are going to tow less than 500 miles then the single axle will do
fine. If you plan to tow to Florida or Nova Scotia then choose the dual
axle. As to the wheels falling off. It happens but even on a dual axle you
have to stop. A dual axle does not mean two of the same axles as a single
axle.
2.	New boats weigh more. A brand new Rhodes 22 has to have Triad’s new
single axle trailer to handle the weight. The new Triad single axle
trailers are much stouter than the older single axle trailers.
3.	If you plan to tow often then evaluate the distances. If short tows, the
single axle is more maneuverable. If very long distances then dual axles.
However, Stan and Elton use single axle trailers and have towed to
California, Canada, Florida, so you have to think and make the decision that
you are most comfortable with.
