Gotcha re turning as a way to minimize sail abrasion.  I presume you  went 
the 3 part route because you thought it would turn more freely.
 
I don't recall an eye-bolt at the back of the boat, but  I'll go  looking.  
An eye-bolt does sound stronger than the stern pulpit, thanks for  the 
suggestion.  Additionally, I think I have the ultimate theft deterrent  device, I have 
an older motor.  An old (1989) motor came with the  refurbished 89 hull, 
there are many much newer motors to be stolen.
 
I didn't realize the hole in the floor flange was a standard size used  for 
RVs, thank's for that insight.  I'll check out an RV  dealer.
