[Rhodes22-list] I'm Switching To The Other Party - Politics

Slim,

You wouldn't want to work there, they don't have much of a retirement
program. Some of the dancers from 1954 are still there. I've only been
there, uh, once, maybe twice for social science research. Mary's has a
motley, I mean diverse crowd - street people, businessmen, pilots, uh, I
mean harlots. We were sitting at the stage one night during the third dance
of Elizabeth (why I remember her name I don't know) and she was doing her
'Full Monty' routine. One of my co-workers was engaged in conversation with
her and not doing a good job of keeping eye contact.

"Are you from Portland?"

"Well, one of the suburbs."

"Which one? Beaverton?"

Fortunately, she had a sense of humor. Between the spilled beer and the
smoke I can't imagine a piano keyboard lasting too long there anyway.
