[Rhodes22-list] Politics: Hang Saddam Hussein

i think saddam should have been given a life sentence to avoid political shootout. most extremists would have gotten less reason for violent reaction. if indeed that regime is a puppet regime then the puppeteer should have directed the court to give him life. the political solution chosen seems to be the dreaded war of attrition that requires fight to the death. we need allies in iraq and it seems all we have is dependents who grudgingly do what they are told till in time they are given their freedom from their domineering masters. they will then go on to make their own mistakes. meanwhile they keep disappointing us and acting like children till we throw up our hands and leave. we can win this conflict but not without throwing everyone in jail. where are the advocates of states rights?

How do you feel about hanging Saddam Hussein?

Some Shiite terrorists tried to assassinate him in this town while Iraq
was at war with Iran. He caught them, tried them, and executed them.

We deposed him. Caught him. And handed him over to the terrorists who
originally tried to assassinate him.

Now they have decided to execute him for "war crimes".

Is it OK?

Fortunes of war?

Don't piss us off?

Winner's rules?
