[Rhodes22-list] Hartwell Alligator

Ed,
What's this about an alligator eating cats?  I always thought
since cats avoid water and don't fight other species for territory, they
are relatively safe.
Dogs, on the other hand, don't have a chance.
I spent some time earlier this year along the Calousahatchie River and
noticed there wasn't a single dog to be seen or heard.  The locals
explained the alligators crawl ashore and lure any handy dog by
hissing.  While the dog barks and feints at the 'gator's mouth, that big
tail nails the dog every time.
