[Rhodes22-list] Another Shopping Issue - Hand Tools

Ok list, who makes what mechanic hand tools? I sent most of my Craftsman
stuff (except for the tool boxes I started with as an apprentice mechanic a
gazillion years ago) to the MS Gulf. I'm in the market for a whole new set
of wrenches and sockets for the hangar. The boat has a small collection of
el cheapos on board because they rust before they wear out. Snap-on is out
of the question because of price and Chinese junk is out because of
quality. Craftsman has always been a good value but I hate going to Sears
with a passion. Supposedly, the Kobalt line that Lowes sells is made by
Snap-on and the Husky brand by Home Depot is made by the same company that
makes Craftsman for Sears. My internet research keeps coming up with the
same conclusion, there are only a handful of US hand tool manufacturers (pun
intended). So who makes what and which brand is the best value?

Brad
