Bob:

If there is an exclusive contract on Craftsman, how were a couple of tools
made in China a couple of years ago with the Craftsman name? I have not
noticed this issue in the past year.

Tools - If your life or job may depend on doing it right, get quality, that
is Craftsman, Snap-on, Porter Cable, those are the measures of quality.

If you might loose it or it might grow legs, then any brand or house brand
will do.

There are some whose name is growing but have not become a measure of
quality yet, that is Kobalt, Vermont American. The issue about quality seem
to be place and country of manufacturer. The best hand tools still seems to
be USA followed by Japan, Germany and England. Chinese make some that look
like good but their metals remain very variable, and mechanics refer to them
as throw aways. Pakistan makes tools that initially are good but corrode.

There above is my comment.

Addendum: tumblehome - the opposite of flare, with the topsides narrowing
as they rise.
