You just raised another interesting thought.  Next time I need to do work at the top of my mast, maybe I'll just pull the boat over on its side!

John,

All this talk of bosun's chairs has raised an interesting thought. IIRC
the R-22 has about 700 lbs of ballast a couple feet below the waterline.
The mast sticks up about 30 feet above the waterline. Might want to take
into consideration what your weight on the end of a 30 foot lever is
going to do to the center of gravity????

You just might find yourself back down at dock level whether you wanted
to be or not.
