If you intend to overnite in the main cabin, a "must" would be to buy a 6X5 foot piece of 4" foam and cut it to fit and taper at the foot end. Ours rolls up tightly and fits in the V Berth along with double lightweight sleeping bag, whisker pole, boat hook and paddle. Very comfortable, for me at 6' and wife at 5'9". Cabin cushions just don't have enough padding for sleeping and other fun!.

I agree with Anne about the cockpit cushions. They seem so basic to
the boat that I forget that they are options. The ones that come with
the R22 are shaped to the curves of the cockpit. Ours were used but
the folks at the factory cleaned them up and they cleaned up nicely.
The Phifertex (I think) material is rugged, cleans easily and is
comfortable to sit on even when it's very hot out. If they get wet,
the closed cell foam does not absorb water and the mesh of the
Phifertes allows them to dry quickly. After nine years of fairly
heavy use, the vinyl piping on ours is going (we'll probably get
another 5 years out of it) but the mesh fabric is holding up really well.
