Hi Alice,
Our sailing association is an informal group based at our marina.
Members either have boats at the marina or live on the same street
and keep their boats at their own docks. The association has a loose
educational purpose of introducing new folk to the joys of cruising
and racing though most of the racers are gone. We do a few weekend
overnight cruises but the best attended are usually the Memorial Day
cruise (3 day) and the Labor Day weeklong cruise. We do have about 10
boats going to St. Michaels. Most are anchoring out but we've got a
slip at the museum. We also do a number of in-port social activities
at the beginning and end of the season, a couple of parties in the
dog days of summer and a New Year's bash in Rock Hall. It's a great
laid back group. Seems to me that a lot of the local marinas have
similar groups.
