What Jim did not say in the comment about center of gravity (CG) is that it
also moves forward as you reduce sail.  It has be said on this list before
that the R22 sails better with bow down.

Jay,
    Glad to see that you are still here.  See, the same guys that discuss
politics can also discuss the technical aspects of sailing.  As to your
question, the IMF is the most important and unique thing available.  IMF is
not really or readibly available in a boat under 34 feet today.  Althought
the other day someone pointed out two boats where they said it was available
on special order.  Yes you can still order a new boat with standard mast
from Stan.  It happened a couple of years ago, one time.  Everything else
depends how deep your pocket book is.
