That is the conventional wisdom and certainly what the salesmen at Lowes and
Home Depot want you to believe.  I did that to no avail.  My research
revealed that moles like earthworms just as well.  Short of nuking every
living thing, there is no proven solution better than a man-on-mole killing
spree.  There's a lot of products and information out there to convince you
otherwise.
