Hank,

Captain Rummy must be getting on top of things this morning or figures that
his six pack method of mast raising is fully explained in the archives. A
search of the archives might enlighten.

You did not state which mast you have, standard or IMF.

I have raised masts by hand, with Stan's system and using a jin pole.
Stan's system is really a moving jin pole. Also, important in Stan's system
is the mast crutch transporter. It gets/keeps the mast at an angle
sufficent to use his crane.

The IMF is much heavier and his system is designed to raise the IMF with all
accessories ready to go.

You may not think that it is worth whatever he is charging today, but it is.
I usually raise and lower the mast by myself safely and with stops to check
all stays. It does work.

If you have a standard mast, it should not be that heavy. It would be
rasised without any sails and the boom.

Stan has sold/made a trailer mounted system, probably similar to the one
described heretofor.
