I made it back from the Univ. of TN Sailing Club spring break to Key
West......alive.

 

Actually I got back last Saturday, but I am just now recovering from the
trip.  Very little sleeping went on that week.  It was a great trip,
though.  Weather was good and we had fair winds on the trip from Punta
Gorda area to Key West and back.  It was a 26 hour sail each way.  The
kids(?) were actually very well behaved for a bunch of drunken sailors.
It is amazing what a chick magnet a 40" cruising catamaran is.  Of
course the 5 UT girls were none too happy about that.  

 

One afternoon we had 34 people on the largest cat in the fleet for a day
sail (I had to go to a local West Marine for extra life jackets).  As
soon as we got around to the East side of the island, they all wanted to
sail up to a beach and go swimming.  Alcohol was being consumed and I
was none too comfortable with letting them get in the water.  I could
just see the headlines on CNN and Fox News:  "UT Sailing Team drowns
rival Georgia girls".  That would just be the beginning...  So we turned
around and just enjoyed the sailing.

 

Got a few pictures if anyone is interested, but it is mostly of drinking
coeds.
