[Rhodes22-list] Captain Rummy's boat polishing sequence?

Mary Lou,

Do you wax your boat or just use mild soap and water?

I got my recycled boat last year and I don't know if GBI had waxed it.
When I pulled the boat out of the water this winter, I powerwashed it.
The powerwashing took a layer of grime/oxidation off the deck, but the
painted topside still looked brand new and clean. Makes me wonder how
much wax protection GBI's paint needs. Car paint doesn't require waxing
any more.

Absolutely everyone has told me I need to wax my boat, and most have
told me to wax it twice a year. That's a lot of work if it isn't
necessary.

Bill,
I don't know what Stan is painting with now but the paint on our 1991
recycled in 1998 looks nearly new. Mild soap and water are probably
all you need.
