All this chatter about cockpit drains, and I ask has any of you studied the
archieve? A quick history would find that General Boats first made the
drains bigger, then if you look at current boats, you will find large molded
in drains. Ask someone with a new boat what they measure. You could always
trade Stan for a new boat.

I inherited a boat where the P. O. drilled two additional drains next to the
cabin intending to drain to cockpit floor and floor thru hull. Do not
attempt to put in additional drains foward. It caused water into the bilge.

I would think that putting in larger thru hulls for the drains would not be
hard. Putting in larger drains in the seat drains requires glass molding
skills, but has been done.
