Mary Lou,
South River area looked good, but maybe better near Mill Creek.  If we prepositionad a few vehicles near the anchorage we'd have handy wheels.  My little folding Yeah! did one heck of a job during my trip.  Looking back on our trip, I am very satisfied that a 3 or 4 week outing on the Rhodes would work, but I think it would be marginal without some variation of a BR.
