[Rhodes22-list] Steadying sail/anchor riding sail

Rick and Lee,

After some research I think I'm going to go with the sailrite riding sail.
I think I will have them do the fabrication for me despite their claim that
it can be done on a home sewing machine. After watching their video Linda
has several doubts whether her machine can do the project. The Boat US
article has an interesting variation on the usual installation. Especially
since the cockpit is really freed up. I believe the downside is that with a
riding sail, in line fore and aft, you do not completely eliminate the
backing and filling. If the sail is off center and sheeted forward, to the
side, the swinging at anchor or mooring should be greatly reduced. I'll keep
the forum informed on my riding sail venture.

Fair winds and following seas,
