Finally! A topic in my area of expertise! I'm not sure where to start with this, but I have proven without a doubt that if you remove the stopper knot and pull the diamondboard all the way down it will fall out. The diamondboard is not designed to extend all the way down, but the centerboard is supposed to go down and be close to 90 degrees when fully extended. The centerboard has a pulley system while the diamondboard line connects directly. I do not know if the centerboard can be replaced with a diamondboard? If the centerboard is not dropping down all the way it is possible it is getting stuck in the trunk as my diamondboard did. If that is the case, just remove the 500 bolts (actually 40 or 50 but seems like more) pull the board out and grind it down until it moves freely inside the trunk.

I am not aware of similar unwanted consequences if a conventional board is overly rotated forward. I have additional line on my centerboard lanyard, but a ball stop is knotted to keep the cb from moving further forward. Anyone have practical experience on this.> Art> > -----Original Message-----> >From: Rob Lowe <rlowe at vt.edu>> >Sent: Apr 11, 2008 3:36 PM> >To: The Rhodes 22 mail list <rhodes22-list at rhodes22.org>> >Subject: Re: [Rhodes22-list] questions regarding the Rhodes centerboard.> >> >Joe,> >Here's link to my boat when she was being painted by the previous owner.> >I'm assuming the centerboard is all the way down at this point. - rob> >> >http://www.rhodes22.org/pipermail/rhodes22-list/attch/200507/13/Getaway-3.jpg> >> >> >----- Original Message ----- > >From: "Arthur H.
