[Rhodes22-list] questions regarding the Rhodes centerboard.

I think it may vary. IIRC, there are a number of 
ways that the cb pendant has been routed. The 
amount of line would depend on how many turns it 
makes. There are some that are direct pull 
including Fretless. When we got the boat 10 years 
ago and were concerned about the amount of lee 
helm, Stan suggested that one of the things we 
could do was move the stopper knot inside the 
little plastic ball to let the cb down further. 
It was not a figure 8 knot so it took all the way 
from Hart-Miller Island to Love Point working 
with a marlinspike to free up the knot. Can't 
remember if we were motoring or going downwind 
but there wasn't a whole lot of motion or I 
couldn't have done it underway. I think we moved 
the knot about 4 inches. I think we may have let 
the cb go all the way down and then taken note of 
where the line was, pulled it back up slightly 
and then retied the knot. We have a standard cb.
