What's the definition of weatherproof?  I assume we need to keep moisture
out.  Coat the connection with CorrosionX or LPS-4 and tie both ends of the
spaghetti off with a tie-wrap.  Seal it with silicone if you wish. Buy a
trailer connector (weather proof enough).  If Elle stumbles across the exact
connector, good for her.  I wouldn't worry about it so much, especially if
she's going to be moving it frequently anyway.  Spray every time you
disconnect.
