Get a copy of Claiborne Young's "Cruising Guide to NC".  It's all local and
in the details.  I think there a good anchorage on the south side of the
Albermarle, but haven't been there.

Working on getting the Admiral to approve a few day rental from GBI out of
Edenton.  If I do, where are good places to try to cruise to in a 3 day-ish
outing out of Edenton?
