Um, it will probably surprise you that I voluntarily did 2 years of ROTC.  I
didn't stick with it and get my commission because I had a public sector job
offer that paid better than the Air Force, and was going to keep me in Baton
Rouge.  How's that for a perceived Marxist?

Ed,

It's one of those things they "just don't get." You can BET that if a 
university, or a private school, required that ROTC training for all of 
their students, that the left would be up in arms (pun intended). I 
doubt very seriously you'd hear them say "if students don't like the 
requirement, they can go elsewhere".
