casey warns about using the right stuff for the job. the one good tip i got was only tighten the screws/bolts etc lightly, until the gasket material cures, (he does not use an adhesive) then tighten down to make the seal.

in a few hours. I suggest you wait till the temperature warms up to 
make the job easier.

good primer.
