Stan,

You're on to something!  Bailing out Wall Street for their own "dumbass"
moment is the wrong thing to do.  As usual, the market is already well on
it's way to cleaning up the real estate mess just as Congress is "doing"
something about it.  I can understand the Fed's worry about a liquidity
crunch and support their decision, but the President and the Congress should
just butt out.  Those of us who didn't buy more house than we can afford and
stayed with "old fashioned" financing like 15 year notes at fixed rates, are
being punished as well.  I say we take our medicine just like we did when
the DotCom silliness ended and move on.  The market is a wonderful thing
when allowed to work.
