For some enlightened reading on the subject, consider reading all of the
following:

"White Guilt - How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the
Civil Rights Era" by Shelby Steele

"Black Rednecks and White Liberals" by Thomas Sowell

"Uncle Sam's Plantation - How Big Government Enslaves America's Poor and
What We Can Do About It" by Star Parker

All the above are by black authors.  The Civil Rights movement got knocked
off the tracks here in Memphis with the murder of Dr. King.  That by itself
was tragic enough.  That his efforts got high jacked after his death is even
more tragic.  For a good read on one of the biggest culprits read-
