[Rhodes22-list] The Slippery Slope! Political - Big Al Delete -

Ed,

Now we begin to diverge on our analysis. Two things Marx and Engels didn't
anticipate was the participation of the proletariat in capitalism (the small
shareholder and entrepreneur) and the rise of labor unions. Organized labor
got a bad rap for their close association with socialism and communism in
the 30's and 40's, often deserved. That said, I'm a shareholder, an
entrepreneur, and a proud member of a labor union, and at ease with all
three. Regarding heath care, people need to be shareholders (you are
responsible for holding down costs). There is no shortage of
entrepreneurial efforts, ala, WalMart pharmacies and walk-in clinics,
electronic medical billing companies, etc. Collective bargaining for drugs
is not in itself a bad thing as long as both parties are free to walk away
from the table. When the government is the ONLY party at the table, THAT is
the problem. We can solve this issue.

Vote for me - all about hope and change. My bumper sticker is going to
read, "I HOPE YOU CHANGE TO MY WAY OF THINKING!"
