Re Bush is a dumb ass. To illustrate my point I'll mention my sister-in-law
is an anthropology professor, PhD, Fulbright Scholar and one of the most
intelligent people I know, taught at Yale for a number of years. She said
the students who came through were pushy, demanding and full of
entitlement. In other words, snotty, rich brats. She did not say they were
all smart. Presumably they were not all dummies either. Like everything
else, some are high on the scale and some not so much. She now teaches back
home here in Minnesota and guess what? Her students here read the same
books, are assigned the same homework, write the same term papers, held to
the same standards and are graded under the same scrutiny as her students at
Yale. No teachers dumb down their work because they're NOT at an ivy league
school. Conversely we can conclude that students at Yale are not
necessarily put through any more rigor than those at the University of
Minnesota. Because Bush graduated from an ivy league school with a C
average does not mean he's smart. Take away his daddy and all that money
and privilege and all those connections and Georgie graduates with a C
average from North Texas State instead.

He was a pilot. I'm not, but again I presume it's like everything else.
Some are high on the scale and some not so much. I'll defer to the pilots
here on the Rhodes list: is it possible for a man with average intelligence
to learn to fly? I'm sure he worked hard to learn and by no means do I
belittle the rigor of flight training, but I know there's a big difference
between being a reserve pilot and an ace. I don't recall hearing anything
about him winning any awards, honors, medals or any great success flying any
dangerous missions. He saw no combat. In fact it's rumored that he went
AWOL. I know that's only rumor but I'm unaware of any evidence that he
distinguished himself as a great pilot either. I don't see how his
(questionable) service record qualifies him as any genius.

I think a better measure of a man's intelligence is the man himself. How he
presents himself, how he writes (Bush is the first and only president whose
never published anything) how he speaks (the poor guy can barely put a
sentence together) and his decision-making. hmmmmm...

He failed in the oil business. Not sure how he did with the Texas Rangers
but they didn't win any championships. What good is this guy, really?
What's to like? Herb likes that he does what he says he's going to do.
Well, he said he would bring the perpetrators of 9-11 to justice. Hasn't
happened. Instead, looks what a mess created in the middle east. He's
getting everybody EXCEPT the perps.

I do respect the office of president but I don't see one shred of evidence
that this guy is any smarter than the average shmuck and that's just not
good enough to be president. He's not smart--he's lucky. Again, take away
Daddy and is he still the president? Not in a million years.
