Brad

I believe that Herb brought up the race issue here, not David. The way Herb
presented his observation was provocative, and it provoked a response. Both
Herb and Dave have to live with that. My specific point is that the
directive to 'give it a rest' should really be for the two of them.

I read something really provocative in the NYT this AM: Max Baukus Dem
Senator of Montana is proposinga sweeping health care reform that will
include illegal immigrants. Specifically it will lift the defacto 5 year
'presence in the country' requirement before they can get Medicaid and the
children's health program. This is what happens when problems are not
addressed in time, the immigration issue should have been tackled long ago.
Now we are all going to start paying and paying. As Stan said, the social
Republicans who came into office are leaving as Republican socialists.

Oh, and lest I forget, AIG now needs more money ...

Hank Paulson did such a poor job in responding to this financial crisis. It
started in August 2007, he did nothing until September of 2008, and then
showed up with a 3 page memo which contained no controls of the trillions he
proposed be given to his (ex)-brethren on Wall Street.

Perhaps taking him into the Rose Garden and shooting him while Ben Bernanke
watched would do much to focus their minds on this problem. Someone give me
a hand here, but was it not Mark Twain who said " there is nothing so
marvelous at focusing the mind as the prospect of ones own executiion in the
morning" or something to that effect.

Tootle, does this ring a bell? BTW, does the shoal draft 26' O'Day sail like
a Rhodes 22? I think that is what it was in the photo RR sent? Which one do
you like better?

brad - sorry about the cars, they can all be repaired and rebuilt ad
infinitum, its the ad nauseum that gets old.

Andrew
