Bill,

Nope. As I understand it, there is no 'U' equivalent in Arabic...

Here's a Google search link:

http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Q%22+not+followed+by+%22U%22&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7DKUS

Or Google this:

"Q" not followed by "U"  (put that in the search box...you'll get some interesting reading....

Ed,

Isn't it funny when we find ourselves agreeing?

The newbies won't get this comment, and we can only hope they will take
their own advice and go back to the archives to see our positions last
year, and 5 years ago, and 10 years ago.

Seems to me the same crowd that is encouraging vicious Sarah Palin jokes
objected strongly to vicious Bill Clinton jokes.

Not to worry. The vicious Barack Obama jokes are on the way. Brad --
that's your cue.

Did you hear the one about the leaders of Al Qaeda calling Barack Obama
"nothing but a house nigger"? That was pretty funny on a whole host
of
levels.

BTW -- Elle, why is the transliteration of "Qaeda" not required to
have
a "u" behind the "Q"? Are we encouraging slack spelling
rules, again?
