[Rhodes22-list] POLITICAL-Palin Begins 2012 Campaign

My point exactly. Palin changed how you FELT about your vote, but
didn't have an impact on the vote you cast. The conservative base
wasnt' going to vote for Obama. They might have stayed home, or
thrown their vote away in protest on a fringe candidate.

I actually agree that she got a bum rap from the MSM, though she
brought some of it on herself (she really did blow the Katie Couric
interview which was pretty much low outside slow pitches -- "so tell
me why you think you have foreign policy experience?"). And I agree
that she is one of the more intetresting characaters to represent the
right from a personal appeal standpoint. But I think she did
contrbute to the problem when she started talking about "the real
America" and kept playing the "pals around with terrorists" card. The
base loved that stuff, but the moderates rejected it. My personal
opinion is that the Republicans need to get focused on economics and
move away from the social psychology that has painted them into a
smaller corner.
