Ben,

That phrase was spoken on the House floor a few days ago by Steve
Cohen, the Congressman from Memphis. Fortunately for me, I live about
100 yards outside of his district. Cohen was a TN state Senator for
about 25 years and a good one for his district though I never agreed
with his politics. He ran and won, amazingly enough, for Harold Ford,
Jr's old seat when Jr. ran for the US Senate (keep your eyes on Jr, he
may be the first black President and won't be a bad choice). Anyway,
Cohen had a real fight on his hands getting re-elected this round.
One of his opponents in the primary came right out and said, "we don't
need a Jew representing a black district". My sympathies were with
Cohen until he made that stupid remark for the Congressional Record a
few days ago. By all means, print more buttons. Everything the Daily
Kos wing and the O campaign does these days seems to piss more people
off.
