[Rhodes22-list] Politics 08 - Welcome to the Republican Socialist Agenda

Pete,

Are you really that dense?

Bush isn't running. "Your" party thought highly enough of McCain that
many of their leaders wanted him as a running mate last time around.

Your view that the Repbublican part is "dead" is interesting, especially
in light of the current election that was basically the Democratic
party's to lose, and they very well may do it.

But I think the most interesting part of this is you made an outrageous
and baseless assertion about president Bush increasing civil-liberty
erosions more than any president we've had, and quickly changed the
subject when your obvious lack of knowledge of history was pointed out.

In your "assessment, you chose to ignore Lincoln's suspension of habeas
corpus (and his act of ignoring the US Supreme Court on the matter), the
imprisonment of over 18,000 US citizens, without trial, and on US soil,
over their alleged sympathies for the confederacy, and the almost
unbelievable story of story of Clement Laird Vallandigham, who was
imprisoned for daring to make a speech critical of Lincoln's policies.
He was imprisoned, not for violating a law, but a "general order" from a
military commander forbidding "declaring sympathies for the enemy".

Since you were either ignorant of Lincoln's action, or somehow believe
that what President Bush has done is worse (actually, I suspect you're
simply ignoring the facts), you might want to address President
Roosevelt's interment of 110,000 US citizens for the offense of being
the same race as our enemy.

In the meantime, you should wash your face, the kool-aide stains are
showing.
