[Rhodes22-list] Securing Fuel Tank/Battery

Michael,

This isn't a very good picture but my recycled boat from Stan has an "L"
shaped bracket bolted to the floor and the handle of my gas tank simply lays
over the top of the bracket.

Any ideas on how to secure the fuel tank?
There's been times when the tank would slide towards the center when
heeling.
Also, when I got the Rhodes in 2007, I had to install a battery which is
presently just in a plastic housing and not secured underneath the forward
berth. Can I safely drill into the hull placing wood pieces around the
battery?
