[Rhodes22-list] Boat taxes

Rob,

I guess if you have a million dollar boat you can afford $25K in taxes
every year; but with slip fees, maintenance, fuel, etc.; it makes me
wonder how many boats at my marina pay more each year than my boat is
worth.  You should never calculate how much a boat costs per hour of fun
but that's where a Rhodes is really a good value.

The Army once paid me $.86 in travel pay.  The sad thing is that I
cashed it because I needed the money.  Your $7.45 won't keep an American
employed but the cost of processing the paperwork might.  Pay them $7.50
and the work it will create to fix the problem might keep two state
employees from losing their jobs.

Property taxes on your boat!  What an awful concept!

BTW, exactly what is taxed in a "personnel property tax"?  Is it related
to 
the number of personnel that fit on the boat ;~)
