[Rhodes22-list] Rhodes List- Robertson's Rules Of Order

Kathy,

Let me extend my condolences as well. I'm glad that the list provided some
bit of comfort to Jim.

Let me also add to the voices that think the list is as right as we can make
it. My personal experience is perfect right now, but I realize that it will
never be the perfect amount of sailing vs. non-sailing to please everyone,
but we've been collectively beaten into a really good list for keeping
subject lines current, so it's pretty easy to self-filter.

An amazing thing over the past decade is that the people whose stories and
advice I've enjoyed have mostly stuck around (although I can immediately
think of four or five who I'd love to have back), while those who grated on
my nerves have either gotten used to the tone and pace of the list or left
altogether.

Kathy,
Sorry to hear of your loss. I agree with your description of the list being
a diversion of sorts. I keep my wife appraised of some of the discussions
and will forward to her some of the best posts. Hope you stay with us. -

Hi All,
This is Kathy Barron, My husband, Jim, was an avid reader and occasional
contributor
to the list since we got our Rhodes in 2007. We bought our boat after his
diagnosis
of stage 4 breast cancer (yes gentlemen I said breast cancer). During that
time,
he loved reading the list--ALL of the conversations!! Daily he kept me
abreast of
the current debate, repair advice etc. It became a wonderful diversion for
him.
Well, we only got 3 summers out of sailing Puffin, Jim died this October.
But now I find myself drawn to daily reading of the list for the same
reasons,
I recognize your names, personalities, humor, etc. Don't take that away
from the
list. What you post might mean more to your readers than you think.
Open forum is my vote!
