[Rhodes22-list] Thena - Trinidad boat bottom paint

Ron,

Do you know if Stan uses ablative or non-ablative paint?

Someone at West Marine (probably a powerboater) told me that sailboats don't travel fast enough for ablative paints' layers to slowly wear off. He said if you keep your boat in the water, non-ablative paint is better. Is the only downside to non-ablative paint is that it becomes ineffective if it's out of the water for more than two months?

Thena,

Stan is still using Pettit Trinidad on the recycled boats that leave the
factory.
