One question: under whose authority was he released? Answer:Bush!

Question 2:  Was his current radicalism and hatred exacerbated by his 
incarceration at Gitmo?

Answer: only he knows.

This move will greatly improve the image of the US abroad.  The question of 
the security implications is not clear and perhaps can not be determined by 
any means.
