[Rhodes22-list] So about the centerboard

I am having trouble getting the pictures to open but on one e-mail I got all 
three to open, the first two where diamond boards but they were set lower 
than intended.   If that works for you, OK but lowering the board beyond its 
shape so that the thick section is below the keel bottom is changing the 
shape a bit so more drag.

the bottom picture was the conventional board.

I await the responses of those more knowledgeable; but is your centerboard 
fully released, can it go any deeper?

Attached is a picture of a centerboard that appears more fully released, but 
I am unsure if it completely released. People in the know can point out the 
differences.

So all this time I've been saying we have a conventional centerboard on
Fretless because she was built in 1991 and there was a discussion here at
some point saying that the diamond boards didn't start until the
mid-nineties. We've never had the centerboard out of the boat because of an
unconventional seal on the centerboard cap. We decided that this year we
would have the yard paint the bottom. We replaced the centerboard pennant
while the boat was up in slings. I took these pictures. What do you think?
