With apologies, I've updated the story a bit. - rob

Dateline Lake Hartwell:

A captain was attacked in his boat while anchored near a remote cove in Lake Hartwell. The captain had not fully cleaned out the cabin after a recent gale that resulted in one of just several bottles of Mt. Gay rum being broken in the V berth. From his cockpit the captain heard the gnashing of teeth and heard an "unearthly wailing". He looked out and beheld an apparition in the full moonlight that was truly terrifying. Police have only l lead, a description of the getaway vessel, a beautiful new Rhodes 22 with a bright yellow hull. All the Mt. Gay was gone and the captain's boat has wrecked. The captain ended up having 2 new sails, 3 cases of duct tape, several rolls of fiberglass tape, and a couple of cans of epoxy delivered to him. Then he went about patching up his boat enough so he could sail it home.
