David,
When you reach or when you reef your genoa remember to move your genoa leads
forward. When you do that the genoa will luff evenly from top to bottom. I f
you don't move the leads forward the lower half of the sail will be full but
the upper third or so will luff violently in heavy air. Look at the trim
line drawn on the clew of your Doyle genoa. If your sheets are a straight
line extension your genoa will luff evenly from top to bottom.
