Leo,

Welcome to the fleet. It sounds like you found an excellent boat, everyone will look forward to any jpgs you can send. For sure any Rhodes choice has to be the best choice. I sail my boats out of Lake Hartwell and Boca Ciega, near St Pete, both excellent in their respective seasons. Adaptability is one of the very strong advantages of the Rhodes - small boat feel, normally with a tiller, yet enormous potential for cruising, normally very restricted on any other 22' sailboat. I have been doing canvas work for our skippers on request, first the boomroom, later an easier design on our PTE, boat cover, and sail cover. All of this is like a very helpful hobby for benefit of the fleet, and for our use too. You may come to rework some of the interior, which I have done recently - lots of possibilities...

Let me know as you have questions about your boat and I will share my ideas fully. I'll usually stay 'off-list' and confidential if there is any hint of 'competitive' stance vis-a-vis Stan's offerings, he is tops on our boat, hands down, but is just not equipped for the canvas work.

I'm interested in following your adventure as you get your feet out on the water!

R,

Art Czerwonky

>Hello. My name is Leo. I'm in the final stages of buying a 2000 Rhodes 22. I should be bringing it home on Saturday and hope to have it in the water shortly thereafter. I've been subscribed to the list for about a week and have thoroughly enjoyed the discussions. I look forward to contributing in the future! I hope you won't mind my potentially basic questions!
